WORDS & PHOTOS : EMILIE HART
Every photographer knows that the light on Santorini is unlike anywhere else in the world. It arrives slowly in the late afternoon, turning the whitewashed walls a deep amber and painting the caldera in shades of gold and rose. For Nadia and Elias, who had been dreaming of this island for years, the light was everything.
We began the afternoon at their villa in Imerovigli, photographing quiet moments — a glass of wine, a hand resting on a shoulder, laughter shared over a view that never stops being astonishing. As the sun began its descent toward the caldera, we moved to the clifftop, where the sky turned theatrical and everything else fell away. It was one of those evenings that reminds you why you chose this work.
